La 1290 Super Adventure est présentée par KTM, à juste titre, comme le fleuron de l'aventure. L'électronique règle la traction, le châssis et la gestion du moteur de manière si discrète que l'on peut se concentrer entièrement et surtout en toute sécurité sur l'accélération. Dans les lignes droites intermédiaires, la puissance de 160 ch permet à la 1290 Super Adventure de répondre à des exigences sportives et d'être ainsi très universelle.
