Le World Raid est une extension réussie du programme de modèles Ténéré 700. Jusqu'à présent, les vrais passionnés devaient se débrouiller eux-mêmes lorsqu'il s'agissait d'améliorer l'aptitude au tout-terrain. Avec le World Raid, Yamaha introduit dans les showrooms des concessionnaires un niveau d'équipement prêt à l'emploi pour les longues randonnées (dans le désert). Même si, dans la pratique, les 500 kilomètres d'autonomie sont rarement nécessaires, ce modèle vaut la peine d'être choisi, en particulier pour ses composants de châssis raffinés. Sur route, le World Raid se montre moins instable, tandis qu'en off-road, l'énorme réserve apportée par le matériel KYB entièrement réglable est convaincante. La réactivité est alors d'un niveau absolument exceptionnel. L'amortisseur de direction Öhlins de série apporte une tranquillité supplémentaire à l'avant. En plus de la délicate mise à jour du modèle, comme par exemple l'écran couleur, la connectivité smartphone ou les nouveaux éléments de commande, le World Raid continue de briller avec les qualités connues de la Ténéré. L'Africa Twin est pour moi une moto d'aventure comme une moto d'aventure doit l'être. C'était déjà le cas pour le modèle précédent et cela n'a pas changé avec l'augmentation de la cylindrée et de la puissance. D'une part, parce que la puissance de 102 ch est restée raisonnable et que Honda a même réussi à perdre quelques kilos par rapport à la CRF1000L. Il lui restait donc la polyvalence, elle fonctionne aussi bien sur l'autoroute qu'en off-road. Le châssis absorbe presque toutes les irrégularités, le moteur reste souverain dans toutes les situations, l'ergonomie et le confort d'assise sont exemplaires. Une moto pour tous les jours, mais aussi pour les grands voyages - quelle que soit la destination.
