There are motorcycles that leave no doubt about their arrival. The new Vitpilen 801 is one of them. After the Svartpilen 801 was unveiled in early 2024, it was clear that a Vitpilen sibling would also appear on the horizon. While much remains the same, the new Vitpilen also introduces a few innovations.

Husqvarna presents the new Vitpilen 801, which follows its dark Svartpilen sister and offers not only a new look but also a supposedly sportier package.

Husqvarna Vitpilen 801 Engine and Performance
The technical aspects are, of course, known from the sister model. The new Vitpilen is equipped with a 799 cc parallel-twin engine, delivering 105 hp at 9,250 rpm and a torque of 87 Nm at 8,000 rpm. The service intervals are long at 15,000 kilometers, and from experience, the engine can be described as a sporty colleague. The engine naturally complies with the EURO-5 emissions standard and, according to Husqvarna, consumes an average of 4.5 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers, with CO2 emissions of 106 g/km.
Pricing policy is evident in the riding aids.
KTM's pricing strategy is well-known, but it's usually less pronounced with the Husqvarna brand. The new Vitpilen 801 comes standard with three riding modes: Street, Rain, and Sport. Optionally, the Dynamic mode is available, which includes Supermoto ABS, anti-wheelie control, and a 9-level adjustment of engine slip. A cruise control can also be retrofitted at an additional cost.
Standard equipment includes the essentials: cornering ABS and lean-angle sensitive traction control. However, one point is unfortunately negative: the quickshifter is now optional. In the technical sibling, the Svartpilen 801, the so-called Easy Shift function was still standard - now, for the Vitpilen, it is an extra cost option.
Husqvarna Vitpilen 801 with New Look and Ergonomics
The design of the Vitpilen 801 stays true to its minimalist aesthetics. However, the developers have taken a new approach with its appearance by placing a bi-LED projection headlight with a surrounding position light at the front of the Vitpilen. The aluminum handlebar has been mounted lower compared to the Svartpilen 801 to allow for a sportier ergonomics.
Brakes and Chassis of the Vitpilen 801 2025
The braking performance is ensured by a J.Juan braking system, which is coupled with a Bosch ABS. At the front, two 300 mm brake discs with four-piston radial calipers are used, while at the rear, a 240 mm brake disc with a two-piston caliper is installed.
The chassis of the Vitpilen 801 is based on a chrome-molybdenum steel frame, with the engine serving as a stressed member to reduce overall weight and increase rigidity. At the front, the motorcycle features a WP APEX 43 mm upside-down fork with 140 mm of travel, while the rear is equipped with a WP APEX shock absorber offering 150 mm of travel. Both suspension components are adjustable in preload and damping. The 17-inch alloy wheels are fitted with Michelin Road 6 tires (120/70-17 front, 180/55-17 rear).
Husqvarna Vitpilen 801 Features, Price, and Availability
The 5-inch TFT display of the Vitpilen 801 offers a clear view of all relevant information, allowing the rider to customize the display. Additionally, the motorcycle features a connectivity unit that enables turn-by-turn navigation, phone, and music connectivity. A USB-C port on the handlebar allows for charging devices while riding.
The Vitpilen 801 2025 is expected to be available from November 2024. Prices are yet to be announced.
