Vue d’ensemble - KTM 1050 Adventure 2016 vs Triumph Tiger 800 XC 2016
The KTM 1050 Adventure 2016 and the Triumph Tiger 800 XC 2016 are both enduro motorcycles that offer powerful engines and off-road capabilities. However, there are some key differences between the two models.
In terms of engine specifications, the KTM 1050 Adventure has a larger displacement at 1050cc compared to the Triumph Tiger 800 XC's 799cc. Both bikes have a similar engine power of 95 HP, but the KTM has a higher torque at 107 Nm compared to the Triumph's 79 Nm. This means that the KTM may offer slightly better acceleration and pulling power.
Both bikes feature upside-down telescopic forks for the front suspension, with the KTM using WP brand and the Triumph also using WP. The rear suspension is also provided by WP for both models. However, the KTM has a chromium-molybdenum frame, while the Triumph has a steel frame. This may result in slight differences in weight and handling characteristics.

In terms of braking, the KTM uses Brembo brakes for the front, while the Triumph uses Nissin brakes. Both brands are well-known for their performance and reliability.
When it comes to dimensions and weights, the KTM has a slightly longer wheelbase at 1560mm compared to the Triumph's 1545mm. The seat height is also slightly higher on the KTM at 850mm compared to the Triumph's 845mm. The KTM is slightly heavier with a kerb weight of 230kg compared to the Triumph's 218kg. However, the KTM has a larger fuel tank capacity at 23 liters compared to the Triumph's 19 liters.
In terms of strengths, the KTM 1050 Adventure offers a powerful and refined engine, disengageable ABS, adjustable traction control, and agile handling. It also has adjustable ergonomics, prestigious looks similar to its bigger sisters, a height-adjustable windshield, and a comparatively affordable price.
On the other hand, the Triumph Tiger 800 XC has a great three-cylinder engine with a cool sound. It offers a comfortable seating position, is very easy to handle, and is off-road capable thanks to its long suspension travel. It also has a comfortable chassis, selectable riding modes, adjustable ABS, adjustable traction control, and extensive features.

However, the KTM 1050 Adventure has a rev limiter that kicks in at 8500 revs, which may limit its top speed compared to the Triumph. The KTM's chassis is also considered a little too soft for off-road use.
The Triumph Tiger 800 XC has some weaknesses as well. It is visually hardly distinguishable from its predecessor, and the wind protection is not optimal. Additionally, the footrests may drag early with a very sporty riding style.
In conclusion, both the KTM 1050 Adventure 2016 and the Triumph Tiger 800 XC 2016 offer powerful engines, off-road capabilities, and adjustable features. The KTM has a larger displacement and higher torque, while the Triumph offers a comfortable seating position and extensive features. Ultimately, the choice between the two will depend on the rider's preferences and priorities.

KTM 1050 Adventure 2016
