Son look se distingue et ses caractéristiques / options ressemblent à celles de modèles KTM plus grands et nettement plus chers. La performance de conduite typique de KTM est issue de la ligue Supermoto, ce qui fait de la 125 Duke un véritable engin de plaisir dans les virages serrés. Mais les oranges de Mattighofen ne doivent pas se reposer trop longtemps sur leurs lauriers, car la concurrence est forte et commence déjà à dépasser la toujours très appréciée KTM 125 Duke sur certains aspects.

Le premier pas vers une vraie moto. 10 CV de plus que la 125, ce n'est pas rien, mais pour nous, Européens centraux, ce n'est pas un problème. Car la 200 n'est pas vendue chez nous. Les jeunes de 16 ans et les pilotes B-111 n'ont le droit de conduire que la 125, les nouveaux venus se tournent directement vers la 390 Duke, il n'y a donc pas de place pour la 200, qui ne se vend bien que dans d'autres pays, bien au-delà de nos frontières.
