Ducati Multistrada V4 2025 with extended cylinder deactivation

At the heart of the Ducati Multistrada V4 2025 remains the 1,158 cc V4 Granturismo engine, delivering 170 hp at 10,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 123.8 Nm at 9,000 rpm. The V4 Granturismo engine also features advanced cylinder deactivation. Unlike previous models, where cylinder deactivation was only active at idle, the new version deactivates the rear cylinders even while riding under certain conditions. According to Ducati, this leads to improved fuel efficiency and a 6% reduction in emissions. However, during stronger acceleration or at higher speeds, the cylinders are reactivated to provide full engine power.

The maintenance intervals remain long: Ducati has set the intervals for oil changes at 15,000 km and valve clearance checks at 60,000 km.

Update on the chassis will delight travelers

The chassis of the Ducati Multistrada V4 2025 consists of a lightweight aluminum monocoque frame and a double-sided aluminum swingarm. The swingarm has been slightly revised, with the pivot point positioned 1 mm higher. This enhances the so-called anti-squat effect, which leads to more stable riding performance, especially when fully loaded.

The semi-active suspension "Skyhook DSS EVO" in the Multistrada V4 S operates with a new sensor on the fork, which more precisely detects road irregularities and adjusts the suspension accordingly. This system optimizes the chassis setup in real-time, ensuring that the bike maintains consistent performance even on poor roads or uneven terrain. Another feature is the so-called Bump Detection, which detects shocks from potholes and adjusts the suspension to maximize comfort for the rider and pillion.

Moreover, the Multistrada V4 S features an automatic leveling system that adjusts the ride height according to the load. Whether the rider is traveling alone, with a pillion, or with full luggage, the system ensures a consistent ride height.

The Multistrada V4 will be more comfortable in 2025.

Although the front design has been slightly revised, the wind protection has been retained to provide the rider with sufficient protection even at higher speeds and on longer rides. Additionally, the comfort for the pillion has been improved. The panniers and top case have been moved backward, creating more legroom for the pillion. The seat system is available in various heights and can be individually adjusted to meet the needs of both the rider and the pillion.

Another practical feature is the automatic lowering device. As soon as the bike goes slower than 10 km/h, the seat height is automatically lowered to make it easier for the rider to put their feet down. At higher speeds, the bike returns to its normal riding height. This particularly enhances comfort and safety in stop-and-go traffic or in the city.

Safety and Rider Assistance Systems

The Multistrada V4 is equipped with a radar-based system that enables adaptive cruise control (ACC) and blind spot detection (BSD). A new feature for the 2025 model year is the Forward Collision Warning (FCW). This system warns the rider of potential rear-end collisions with a vehicle ahead. The cornering ABS ensures controlled braking performance even when leaning, while the Ducati Vehicle Observer (DVO) system monitors the dynamic vehicle situation. The DVO analyzes riding parameters in real-time and optimizes the control of electronic systems such as cornering ABS, wheelie control, and traction control.

The motorcycle is also equipped with a three-stage engine brake control (EBC), which allows the rider to adjust the engine's braking effect to their riding style and the specific riding situation. The safety package is complemented by the combined braking system, which automatically adjusts the distribution of braking force between the front and rear wheels according to the load.
