KTM 1090 Adventure je velkým krokem od svého předchůdce, modelu 1050 Adventure, směrem k jeho větším sestrám. Balíček elektroniky s nastavitelnými jízdními režimy, kontrolou trakce a ABS zůstává na již tak vysoké úrovni, ale motor má nyní 125 koní, což je přibližně o třetinu (!) více než u modelu 1050. Téměř ještě důležitější je, že nyní může volně točit až přes 10 000 otáček za minutu, a nabízí tak použitelnější pásmo otáček.
