However, the K 1600 GTL 2022 has some weaknesses. The connection from the mobile phone to the vehicle can sometimes be problematic, the buttons and switches in the cockpit are not backlit, the wind protection is not perfectly solved which can cause a draughty feeling while riding, and it lacks adaptive cruise control which is expected on a touring motorcycle in this league. Additionally, the mobile phone storage compartment can snag from time to time if the phone is too large.

The only weakness mentioned for the K 1600 GT 2017 is that its cockpit already looks a little outdated compared to the built-in technology.
