BMW S 1000 XR je prijeten potovalni motocikel na osnovi superšportnega motocikla. Sliši se kot kompromis - a vozi se kot popoln razvoj. Motorno kolo je praktično in zrelo. Zaščita pred vetrom in vremenskimi vplivi je zelo dobra, integracija z mobilnim telefonom je dobro preizkušena in intuitivna, motor pa je preprosto vedno užitek voziti. Podvozje se dobro prilagaja stanju obremenitve, vendar nikoli ne postane občutljivo in zares udobno. Udobje sedeža je dobro, vendar postane kot kolen na dolgih turah nekoliko oster. Kljub temu je to odličen motocikel, s katerim se radi vozite športno, pa tudi zelo daleč.
