Bem, em todo o caso, esta é uma fase de transição, como a 390 Duke também descreve com a sua essência. Já não é uma Duke pequena, mas também ainda não é uma Duke grande, a 390 está mesmo no meio. Não se deve subestimá-la, mas também não se deve esperar demasiado. Se tiveres isto em mente, vais divertir-te muito com ela, mesmo numa pista de corrida não muito rápida. (No entanto, não devem estar muitos milhares na estrada nessa altura.) Manuseamento leve como uma mota, mas já tão forte como muitas motas funk de 600cc dos últimos 10 anos.

A nova 890 carrega a tocha com um peito inchado e mais uma vez faz jus à sua alcunha de bisturi. Viva, puxa os raios e transmite um certo nervosismo que pode ser interpretado como um carácter selvagem. O equipamento está quase completo - mas só quase. Porque é que se tem de pagar um extra pela alavanca de velocidades, quando esta era de série no antecessor? É ainda mais irritante que a mudança de velocidades sem embraiagem funcione tão suavemente como manteiga e que não se queira passar sem ela.
