Como alguém que gosta de motos desportivas polivalentes, fiquei impressionado com a Multistrada Pikes Peak quando a conduzi na pista de Modena há um ano, mas com a RS a Ducati ultrapassou os limites do que é possível numa máquina crossover. Um V4 de 192 cv num chassis que tem muitas das qualidades da excelente Streetfighter e da Panigale, misturado com a versatilidade da Multistrada, é uma mistura inebriante. Especialmente se tivermos em conta que, pelo menos para mim, é a Multistrada mais bonita da gama. Sim, é cara, mas também é exótica. Quantas vezes, pergunto-me, os proprietários da Panigale desejaram um pouco mais de conforto, autonomia ou praticidade? Bem, para além de alguns insignificantes décimos de segundo nos tempos por volta em pista, esta é a moto. Vai abanar a Europa com a mesma facilidade com que se aguenta no grupo de trackday rápido. Quem precisa disso? Eu preciso, e suspeito que muitos outros também. Penso que é ótimo que a Ducati tenha sido suficientemente corajosa e ousada para desenvolver algo que é tão prático e tão louco ao mesmo tempo.

A Ducati conseguiu melhorar o desempenho da Streetfighter V4 S com alterações específicas. Apesar de os dados de desempenho não terem sido alterados, a condução foi decisivamente melhorada. As grandes alterações não eram de esperar numa moto que já tinha um desempenho ao mais alto nível - de qualquer forma, não há praticamente nada de que se possa queixar nas actuais motos hiper-nuas.
