Starting with the Honda NT1100 DCT 2022, this touring motorcycle offers extensive standard equipment and perfect wind and weather protection, making it suitable for long distances. It is powered by a great engine that delivers 102 HP of power and 104 Nm of torque. The bike features a comfortable seating position and is equipped with Apple Carplay and Android Auto integration, allowing riders to easily connect their devices. The suspension set-up is coherent, providing a smooth and stable ride. However, it does not have an IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit), which may limit its advanced riding assistance capabilities. Additionally, the color variants available for this model may be considered dull by some riders. Another downside is that there is no option for an e-chassis, which may be a drawback for those looking for advanced electronic features.

On the other hand, the Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin 2022 is an enduro motorcycle that offers a powerful engine and sophisticated electronic driving aids. Additionally, the ergonomics may not be ideal for standing riding, which could be a disadvantage for off-road enthusiasts.

The NT1100 has the potential to be a big hit in the travel segment. Honda has done its homework brilliantly in many areas. The final consistency on the subject of safety features prevents an even better rating of the tourer. Nevertheless, it is one of the best touring motorbikes I have ever ridden. A little courage for additional equipment variants and more colour could bring the NT 2023 right to the front.
Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin 2022

For me, the Africa Twin is a touring enduro as a touring enduro should be. This was already true of the predecessor model and did not change with the increase in displacement and power. Because the latter remained manageable at 102 hp, and Honda even managed to shed a few kilos compared to the CRF1000L. So it remained versatile, functioning just as well on the motorway as off-road. The chassis absorbs almost all bumps, the engine remains sovereign in every situation, ergonomics and seating comfort are exemplary. A motorbike for all days as well as for the big trip - wherever that may be.
