A motorbike in this performance class probably cannot be more accessible. The XR wobbles playfully through the radii and immediately inspires confidence in the saddle. Even long tours are easy and you are always relaxed when getting out of the saddle. However, the sporty look of the BMW also awakens desires for a little thrill. However, the power unit cannot quite fulfil these desires. The engine, transmission and quickshifter are a little too tame overall and could do with a little more sportiness.

Compared to the sporty single-cylinder competition from KTM or Husqvarna, which you first have to make suitable for touring with a windshield, larger tank, etc., the Twin offers a smoother ride and thus better long-distance capability, and compared to most two-cylinder competitors, with the exception of KTM's 890 Adventure R, it offers more off-road capability.
