Both bikes feature a liquid-cooled engine and a two-cylinder configuration. The Suzuki SV 650 has a displacement of 645cc, while the Honda CB750 Hornet has a larger displacement of 755cc. This larger engine size may contribute to the Honda's higher power output.

In terms of suspension, both bikes feature a swing arm with a monoshock rear suspension and preload adjustment. However, the Honda CB750 Hornet has an upside-down telescopic fork for the front suspension, which may provide better handling and stability compared to the telescopic fork on the Suzuki SV 650.

The Honda CB750 Hornet has slightly larger brake discs with a diameter of 296mm compared to the Suzuki SV 650's 290mm discs.

In terms of rider assistance systems, the Suzuki SV 650 only offers ABS, while the Honda CB750 Hornet provides a more extensive range of electronics. These include ABS, riding modes, ride by wire, traction control, and anti-wheelie. These additional features on the Honda may enhance the overall riding experience and safety.

Both bikes have similar dimensions and weights, with the Honda CB750 Hornet having a slightly shorter wheelbase and a slightly higher seat height compared to the Suzuki SV 650. The fuel tank capacity is also slightly larger on the Honda, offering 15.2 liters compared to the Suzuki's 14.5 liters.

In terms of weaknesses, the Suzuki SV 650 lacks electronic features apart from ABS, while the Honda CB750 Hornet offers a more comprehensive range of electronics. The Suzuki's brakes also require more manual force compared to the Honda's, which may affect the overall braking performance. Additionally, the instruments on the Suzuki SV 650 are moderately readable, which may be a drawback for some riders.

On the other hand, the Honda CB750 Hornet has a steel box swing arm, which may not be as visually appealing as some other swing arm designs. However, this is a subjective aspect and may not affect the overall performance of the bike.

In summary, the Suzuki SV 650 and Honda CB750 Hornet are both strong contenders in the naked bike segment. The Honda offers more power, advanced electronics, and additional features, while the Suzuki provides a beginner-friendly seating position, easy handling, and a timeless look. Ultimately, the choice between the two will depend on individual preferences and priorities.

Suzuki SV 650 2023

Suzuki SV 650 2023

The Suzuki SV 650 has been on the market for 25 years, longer than any other motorbike. The engine has been updated to Euro5 and is now even more mature, which clearly fits in with the rest of the package. The SV 650 doesn't want to scare anyone, especially beginners. The chassis makes a solid, unagitated impression, the brakes require a lot of manual force to prevent unexpected overbraking. The look is timeless on the one hand, but on the other hand some components are really a bit outdated. On the other hand, the price is fair, as usual for Suzuki.

Honda CB750 Hornet 2023

Honda CB750 Hornet 2023

The new Hornet 750 is a really successful naked bike that sets itself above most competitors in the upper entry-level bike class with its wonderfully agile and powerful engine, balanced handling and chassis, comfortable riding position and, last but not least, its extensive electronic equipment. Actually, it comes very close to the middle class, only the boring swingarm and the narrow 160 rear tyre (which, however, helps the handling enormously) do not quite fit into this segment. However, it is hardly more expensive than the entry-level bikes, and instead a few, sometimes even many thousands cheaper than the mid-range. That makes it an unbeatable offer!
