En tant que moto duale classique, comme on n'en trouve malheureusement plus que trop rarement aujourd'hui, la Honda légère fonctionne très bien sur et surtout en dehors des chemins goudronnés. Contrairement à son prédécesseur, la CRF250 Rally, elle a gagné environ 10 % de puissance, mais 10 à 15 CV supplémentaires lui conviendraient parfaitement. Le fait que les rapports inférieurs soient désormais plus courts permet de ressentir l'augmentation de puissance, et le sixième rapport plus long permet de cruiser plus sereinement à des vitesses plus élevées.
