L'Africa Twin est pour moi une moto d'aventure comme une moto d'aventure doit l'être. C'était déjà le cas pour le modèle précédent et cela n'a pas changé avec l'augmentation de la cylindrée et de la puissance. D'une part, parce que la puissance de 102 ch est restée raisonnable et que Honda a même réussi à perdre quelques kilos par rapport à la CRF1000L. Il lui restait donc la polyvalence, elle fonctionne aussi bien sur l'autoroute qu'en off-road. Le châssis absorbe presque toutes les irrégularités, le moteur reste souverain dans toutes les situations, l'ergonomie et le confort d'assise sont exemplaires. Une moto pour tous les jours, mais aussi pour les grands voyages - quelle que soit la destination.

Même si le prix de la nouvelle V-Strom 1050 est passé dans une ligue où elle doit se laisser comparer à la concurrence plus qu'auparavant, elle est restée fidèle à elle-même ou plutôt une moto simple, prête pour le grand voyage, malgré les caractéristiques de sécurité les plus modernes. Son terrain de prédilection est la route, qui peut être mauvaise et cahoteuse grâce au bon châssis, les passages offroad ne posent pas non plus de problème, mais ceux qui recherchent régulièrement des terrains plus difficiles auront tendance à ne pas choisir la Suzuki en raison de son poids imposant.
