Toutefois, cette conception plus confortable de la 950 s'accorde très bien avec le caractère du moteur. En effet, avec (seulement) 95 ch, le moteur, identique à celui de la GSX-S1000, est conçu pour fournir du couple par le bas et au milieu, tirer obstinément n'a guère de sens. Celui qui cherche une naked bike relativement confortable, adaptée à la catégorie A2 et qui se distingue à peine du modèle haut de gamme peut donc économiser beaucoup d'argent !
