La KTM 1090 Adventure est un grand pas en avant par rapport à son prédécesseur, la 1050 Adventure, en direction de ses grandes sœurs. Le package électronique avec les Riding Modes réglables, le contrôle de traction et l'ABS reste certes à un niveau déjà élevé, mais le moteur développe désormais 125 ch, soit environ un tiers ( !) de plus que la 1050. Ce qui est presque plus important, c'est qu'il peut désormais tirer librement jusqu'à plus de 10 000 tours et offre ainsi une plage de régime plus exploitable. Il est difficile de trouver une moto plus équilibrée dans la catégorie des grandes enduros de voyage encore à peu près abordables.
