D'une part, parce que la puissance de 102 ch est restée raisonnable et que Honda a même réussi à perdre quelques kilos par rapport à la CRF1000L. Il lui restait donc la polyvalence, elle fonctionne aussi bien sur l'autoroute qu'en off-road. Le châssis absorbe presque toutes les irrégularités, le moteur reste souverain dans toutes les situations, l'ergonomie et le confort d'assise sont exemplaires.
