La Triumph Thunderbird Commander ne peut certes pas rivaliser avec les performances de la Ducati Diavel, mais elle surprend encore plus que l'Italienne par son allure agile. Il est étonnant de voir à quel point on peut prendre les virages de manière relativement stable malgré le frottement des marchepieds. Lorsque la route devient très étroite, le Diavel n'est plus vraiment amusant. En matière d'esthétique, il suit la voie classique avec ses nombreux chromes et porte haut l'étendard du cruiser typique. En tout cas, nous ne voudrions pas nous passer du Ducati Diavel ou de la Triumph Thunderbird Commander dans le vaste monde de la moto !

Même si le guidon Beach Bar, la hauteur de selle de seulement 705 mm et le moteur à couple élevé de la Triumph Speedmaster invitent à se détendre en glissant sur le cruiser classique, la dernière moto Bonneville recèle plus de vitesse que l'on pourrait s'y attendre. Un frein à double disque de 310 mm, des débattements de suspension généreux, des leviers réglables ainsi que deux modes de conduite et un contrôle de traction désactivable garantissent une performance assez sportive.
