Triumph Tiger 900 GT Pro 2020 vs. Triumph Tiger 1200 GT PRO 2022

The Triumph Tiger 900 GT Pro 2020 and the Triumph Tiger 1200 GT PRO 2022 are both enduro motorcycles from Triumph, but they have several differences in terms of specifications and features.

In terms of engine and drive train, the Tiger 900 GT Pro 2020 is equipped with an in-line three-cylinder engine with a displacement of 888cc. It produces 95.2 HP of power and 87 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a chain transmission. On the other hand, the Tiger 1200 GT PRO 2022 also features an in-line three-cylinder engine but with a larger displacement of 1160cc. It delivers a higher power output of 150 HP and torque of 130 Nm. The engine is mated to a prop shaft transmission.

Both motorcycles have upside-down telescopic forks for the front suspension. However, the Tiger 900 GT Pro 2020 is equipped with Marzocchi forks with a diameter of 45mm and a travel of 180mm. The Tiger 1200 GT PRO 2022, on the other hand, features Showa forks with a larger diameter of 49mm and a travel of 200mm. Both motorcycles have swing arm rear suspensions with monoshock absorbers.

Both motorcycles have double disk brakes at the front, with Brembo being the brand used. The Tiger 900 GT Pro 2020 and the Tiger 1200 GT PRO 2022 both come with advanced rider assistance systems such as suspension electronically adjustable, riding modes, cornering ABS, ride by wire, and traction control. The Tiger 1200 GT PRO 2022 also has additional features like hill start assist, shift assistant with blipper, cruise control, and Bluetooth connectivity.

Both motorcycles have a fuel tank capacity of 20 liters.

In terms of equipment, both motorcycles come with LED daytime running lights, LED headlights, and TFT displays. The Tiger 900 GT Pro 2020 also has a heated seat, while the Tiger 1200 GT PRO 2022 features additional equipment such as heated grips, keyless system, cornering lights, and an adjustable windscreen.

In terms of strengths, the Tiger 900 GT Pro 2020 is praised for its three-cylinder engine, agile turn-in behavior, quickshifter, electronically adjustable suspension, generous standard equipment, good ergonomics, wind and weather protection, and long-distance capability. The Tiger 1200 GT PRO 2022 is commended for its linear and predictable power delivery, extensive electronics package, good wind protection, comfortable seating position, and top brakes.

However, the Tiger 900 GT Pro 2020 is criticized for having a flood of switches on the left handlebar. On the other hand, the Tiger 1200 GT PRO 2022 is noted for high-frequency vibrations at certain speeds, rather sluggish handling, load change reactions, and grips that are unfavorably positioned for the pillion passenger.
