Most people think of the same category of bikes under the term hard enduro bikes, often also called sport enduro bikes: Light, slim machines with 2- or 4-stroke single-cylinder engines and long suspension travel. To be included in our selection, the enduro bikes had to be newly available, have a road homologation from the factory and obviously be designed for off-road use with 21-inch tires and a single cylinder. However, models such as the KTM 690 Enduro R or Husqvarna 701 Enduro also meet these requirements. These dual-sport bikes are not Hardenduros in the true sense of the word, but as the dual-sport segment no longer exists apart from the KTM Group models, we have included them anyway. In the 1000PS Top Awards, motorcycles can also compete in several categories, provided they fulfill the respective requirements. As a hermaphrodite, the dual-sports also enter the race for the top awards for the best off-road enduro.
