Overview - Triumph Bonneville T120 2021 vs Triumph Speed Twin 1200 2021
The Triumph Bonneville T120 2021 and the Triumph Speed Twin 1200 2021 are both naked bikes from Triumph, but they have some key differences in terms of technical specifications and performance.
Starting with the engine and drivetrain, both bikes have a 1200cc inline twin-cylinder engine with fuel injection. However, the Speed Twin has a more powerful engine, producing 100 horsepower and 112 Nm of torque, compared to the T120's 80 horsepower and 105 Nm of torque. This gives the Speed Twin an advantage in terms of acceleration and overall performance.
In terms of suspension, the T120 features a telescopic fork front suspension from Kayaba, while the Speed Twin has an upside-down telescopic fork from Marzocchi. Both bikes have swing arm rear suspension with dual shocks and preload adjustment. The Speed Twin's suspension setup is more advanced and offers better performance and adjustability.

In terms of brakes, both bikes have double disk front brakes, but the Speed Twin has larger diameter disks (320mm) and four-piston calipers from Brembo, compared to the T120's 310mm disks and double-piston calipers. This gives the Speed Twin better braking performance and more stopping power.
Both bikes have ABS as an advanced rider assistance system, but the Speed Twin also offers additional features such as riding modes and traction control, giving it an advantage in terms of safety and customization.
In terms of dimensions and weights, the T120 has a slightly larger wheelbase (1450mm) compared to the Speed Twin (1413mm), which can affect stability and maneuverability. The T120 also has a lower seat height (790mm) compared to the Speed Twin (809mm), which may be more comfortable for shorter riders. However, the T120 is heavier, with a kerb weight of 236kg compared to the Speed Twin's 216kg.
Both bikes have a fuel tank capacity of 14.5 liters and offer a similar range of around 300km. However, the T120 has a slightly better fuel consumption rating of 4.7l/100km compared to the Speed Twin's 5.1l/100km.

On the other hand, the Speed Twin is praised for its superb engine, quality feel, torque in every situation, playful handling, good chassis, and high-performance brakes.
In terms of weaknesses, the T120 has limited lean angle clearance and its chassis reaches its limits at a brisk pace. The Speed Twin, on the other hand, has strong heat development under the rider, may be too petite for tall riders, and has a large turning circle.
Overall, both bikes have their strengths and weaknesses, but the Speed Twin offers a more powerful engine, better suspension, and advanced rider assistance systems, making it a more performance-oriented option compared to the T120.

Triumph Bonneville T120 2021
You can't ride a retro bike more convincingly than on the Triumph Bonneville T120. The name conveys so much classic flair that the actual riding almost takes a back seat. That would be a shame, though, because if you don't care about performance on the last jag, the Bonnie with its superior twin offers a successful all-round carefree package that makes big and small happy. The chrome-glittering British beauty is a museum piece that rides modern.
Triumph Speed Twin 1200 2021
The better is the enemy of the good, this saying once again proves to be impressively true in the case of the new Triumph Speed Twin. The British have worked on the weak points of the predecessor and thus turned the classic beauty into a real riding machine that does not have to hide from modern naked bikes. Unfortunately, tall riders cannot enjoy the small 1200 quite as easily as riders under 1.85 metres. Be that as it may, the Speed Twin is the perfect modern classic motorbike for me - it combines classic looks with modern handling like no other motorbike on the market today.
