The chassis of the KTM is made of chromium-molybdenum, which is known for its strength and rigidity, while the Kawasaki features a steel frame. The KTM's tubular frame design provides excellent stability and handling characteristics.

Both bikes feature double disk brakes at the front with four-piston calipers, but the KTM has larger diameter disks at 320mm compared to the Kawasaki's 300mm. The KTM also utilizes radial, monoblock technology for its front brakes, which provides improved braking performance and feel.

KTM 1290 Super Duke R 2022

KTM 1290 Super Duke R 2022

The KTM 1290 Super Duke R retains its brute character for 2022 if you take the beast by the horns. But the Hyper Naked from Mattighofen is also convincing in everyday use and presents itself as a mature all-round companion. Small details could use a little love, but nothing that spoils the positive overall impression of the 1290 Super Duke R.

Kawasaki Z900 2023

Kawasaki Z900 2023

The Kawasaki Z900 may not be up to scratch when it comes to modern, lean angle-dependent electronic features, but it's relatively cheap and you shouldn't underestimate the fan base of the good old inline four - the Z900 is one of the cheapest ways to own such a great engine with just under a litre of displacement in a sporty naked bike! The higher weight is noticeable, but not massively annoying, because the handling and stability are quite alright. In terms of "outdated" electronics, the most annoying thing is the missing shift assistant, which is not even available as an option. Overall, however, the Z900 is a great naked bike with a great price-performance ratio.
