Suzuki SV 650 2017

Suzuki SV 650 2017

The Suzuki SV 650 is accompanied by a long history of success that is sure to continue for a long time. Its supple V2 impresses with very smooth response and plenty of torque. Compact dimensions help to make the motorbike look very compact. This will be very convenient for beginners. The chassis also scores with playful handling. Unfortunately, the braking effect is not at the level one would expect from such a powerful vehicle.

You can always argue about the looks and the lack of a trellis frame, but the current Monster is anything but ugly. Basically, it would be a great everyday naked bike with pleasant ergonomics and a braking system that does not surprise even the inexperienced. The rather soft chassis can also be considered an acceptable compromise, but for a Ducati it is rather surprising that at least the front fork was not tuned a little tighter. Unfortunately, the charismatic engine bucks strongly at low revs and thus only shows its wonderful V2 character on the country road. All in all, however, this reflects the overall image of the Monster very well: a typical Ducati that is also good for everyday riding in terms of chassis and brakes.

Typical Ducati powerplant with charisma

comfortable seating position

good, responsive braking system

agile handling

high-quality components

comprehensive electronics package

cornering ABS

lean angle-dependent traction control.

Engine jerks strongly at low revs

front fork tuned too softly

no longer unmistakably a Monster due to the lack of a trellis frame.
