Overview - Honda CB750 Hornet 2023 vs Ducati Streetfighter V2 2023

The Honda CB750 Hornet 2023 and the Ducati Streetfighter V2 2023 are both naked bikes with similar engine configurations and advanced rider assistance systems. However, there are several key differences between the two models.

In terms of engine power, the Ducati Streetfighter V2 2023 has a significant advantage with 153 HP compared to the Honda CB750 Hornet 2023's 92 HP. This higher power output translates to a more thrilling and dynamic riding experience on the Ducati.

The torque figures also favor the Ducati, with 101.4 Nm compared to the Honda's 75 Nm. This means that the Ducati will have stronger low-end and mid-range acceleration, making it more responsive in various riding conditions.

Both bikes feature fuel injection systems and liquid cooling, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency. However, the Ducati has a larger displacement at 955 ccm compared to the Honda's 755 ccm, which contributes to its higher power output.

In terms of suspension, both bikes feature upside-down telescopic forks at the front. The Honda uses a Showa suspension system, while the Ducati also utilizes Showa components. The rear suspension on the Honda is a swing arm with a monoshock, while the Ducati has a single swing arm with a monoshock that offers additional adjustment options for compression, preload, and rebound.

The chassis construction differs between the two models. The Honda CB750 Hornet 2023 features a steel frame, while the Ducati Streetfighter V2 2023 utilizes an aluminum frame. The aluminum frame provides a lighter weight and potentially improved handling characteristics.

Braking systems on both bikes are similar, with double disc brakes at the front. However, the Ducati has larger diameter discs at 320 mm compared to the Honda's 296 mm. Both bikes use four-piston calipers, but the Ducati's brakes are of the radial monoblock type and are supplied by Brembo, which is known for its high-performance braking systems.

In terms of rider assistance systems, both bikes offer advanced features such as ABS, riding modes, ride by wire, traction control, and anti-wheelie control. The Ducati also includes cornering ABS and a quickshifter as standard, providing additional convenience and safety.

Dimensions and weights vary slightly between the two models. The Ducati has a longer wheelbase at 1465 mm compared to the Honda's 1420 mm. The seat height on the Ducati is also taller at 845 mm compared to the Honda's 795 mm. The Ducati is slightly heavier with a curb weight of 200 kg compared to the Honda's 190 kg.

In terms of equipment, both bikes feature LED headlights and TFT displays. The Honda also offers connectivity as part of its equipment package.

In summary, the Honda CB750 Hornet 2023 offers a powerful and torquey engine, good brakes, and a comfortable seating position. It also has agile handling and a well-balanced chassis. The extensive electronics package and optional quickshifter make it a compelling option, especially considering its excellent price.

On the other hand, the Ducati Streetfighter V2 2023 boasts a high-revving V2 engine, comprehensive electronics package, and finely responsive chassis as standard. It also offers powerful brakes, precise handling, and a sporty and refined appearance. The sporty and accessible seating position adds to its appeal.

However, the Honda CB750 Hornet 2023 does have a few weaknesses, including a less visually appealing steel box swing arm. The Ducati Streetfighter V2 2023 has some drawbacks as well, such as the lack of a fuel gauge, engine jerking at low revs, and heat build-up under the driver's seat.

Honda CB750 Hornet 2023

Honda CB750 Hornet 2023

The new Hornet 750 is a really successful naked bike that sets itself above most competitors in the upper entry-level bike class with its wonderfully agile and powerful engine, balanced handling and chassis, comfortable riding position and, last but not least, its extensive electronic equipment. Actually, it comes very close to the middle class, only the boring swingarm and the narrow 160 rear tyre (which, however, helps the handling enormously) do not quite fit into this segment. However, it is hardly more expensive than the entry-level bikes, and instead a few, sometimes even many thousands cheaper than the mid-range. That makes it an unbeatable offer!

Ducati Streetfighter V2 2023

Ducati Streetfighter V2 2023

With the Streetfighter V2, Ducati has modified the Panigale V2 super sports bike and made it suitable for everyday use. Despite its visual similarity to the Streetfighter V4, it has a character of its own and also has airs and graces that make life with it a little difficult, but interesting on the other hand. The jerky engine running at low revs obviously doesn't bother Ducatisti, however, and instead they are pleased with 153 hp that hangs well on the throttle, finely responsive chassis components, high-quality brakes and complete electronic equipment - only the fuel gauge was forgotten. Similar to its riding qualities, however, the Streetfighter V2 is also priced upwards in the direction of hyper-naked bikes.
