Overview - KTM 250 EXC-F 2016 vs KTM 250 EXC 2016
The KTM 250 EXC-F 2016 and the KTM 250 EXC 2016 are both enduro motorcycles with similar technical specifications. However, there are some key differences between the two models.
In terms of engine and drive train, the KTM 250 EXC-F has a larger bore of 78 mm compared to the 66.4 mm bore of the KTM 250 EXC. This means that the EXC-F has a larger piston diameter, which can result in increased power and torque. Additionally, the EXC-F has a shorter stroke of 52.3 mm compared to the 72 mm stroke of the EXC. A shorter stroke can result in higher revving capabilities and increased performance.
Both models have electric starters, but the EXC also has a kick starter option. This can be useful in situations where the electric starter fails or the battery is dead. Both models have a chain transmission system and a single cylinder engine with a displacement of around 250 cc.
In terms of suspension, both models have upside-down telescopic forks at the front and WP brand suspension at the rear. This ensures excellent handling and stability on different terrains.

Now, let's compare the strengths and weaknesses of each model.
The KTM 250 EXC-F is known for being easy to ride in every respect. Its traction and power delivery are unbeatable, making it a great choice for beginners. It also offers better line holding capabilities compared to 2-stroke models. Despite its weight, it still offers good handling.
KTM 250 EXC 2016
On the other hand, the KTM 250 EXC is known for its high performance and lively handling. It has a simple design, which can make it more challenging to handle under extreme loads. However, it also offers lower vibrations due to its new motor with a balancer shaft.
In terms of weaknesses, the KTM 250 EXC-F can be quite expensive, almost as much as a "big" enduro bike. Additionally, lifting the front wheel over obstacles requires better riding technique compared to the 350 or 450 models.
The KTM 250 EXC, compared to the four-stroke models, can be more strenuous to ride on long stages. Its engine response is good but not as clean as the four-stroke models. It also has less torque in the rev range compared to the 300 model, which may not be suitable for less experienced riders.
In conclusion, the KTM 250 EXC-F and the KTM 250 EXC are both capable enduro motorcycles with their own strengths and weaknesses. The EXC-F is easier to ride and offers unbeatable traction and power delivery, while the EXC offers high performance and lively handling. Riders should consider their skill level and preferences when choosing between the two models.

KTM 250 EXC-F 2016
The big 2017 upgrade has been particularly good for the small four-stroke. Because KTM has been able to further increase the power on the lively machine. Now even those riders for whom it was just a tad too weak can try it again. Of course, it has become even more manageable and all the new strengths of the 2017 models also apply to it. But with its 40 hp, it has broadened its target group more than the other 17 models.
KTM 250 EXC 2016
The "big" two-stroke engine was newly developed in 2017 and is used on the 250 and 300. The electric starter is now no longer "flange-mounted" but compactly integrated. The 250 engine remains true to its line and has increased over the entire rev range. The bike offers a high degree of perfection and in expert hands is an unbeatable and indestructible winning machine. Strong enough for professionals! 300cc for the fast fraction not really necessary. Great plus in riding comfort thanks to the new balance shaft: significantly less vibration!
