The brakes are effective, and the on-road ergonomics are comfortable. The clutch is also well-dosed.

In terms of weaknesses, the KTM 790 Adventure R 2019 does not come standard with a quickshifter, and some riders find the indicator switch to be a little fiddly. The seat is also reported to be slightly uncomfortable on long tours compared to the standard model.

For the KTM 790 Adventure 2023, the sporty quickshifter+ feature is only available at an additional cost. The chassis adjustment range is not as wide as some riders would prefer, and the handlebar position is considered too low for off-road riding.
