It all started in 2017 with the Honda X-ADV, and now they're all the rage: the off-road scooters. In a world where motorcycles embrace crossover concepts, scooters prove they can think outside the box too. Many manufacturers are offering off-road-inspired scooters, particularly popular in southern countries like Spain and Italy. With the rugged-looking 368G, Zontes is aiming for a slice of the pie.

Compact Comfort: Seating Position & Ergonomics
The visually imposing Zontes 368G surprises with a compact yet comfortable seating position. Notably, the handlebars are set relatively high, while the seat height is on the lower side at 795 mm—resulting in an upright seating posture with arms slightly raised. Unfortunately, the backrest of the rider's seat isn't adjustable, but the spacious footboards offer plenty of room and allow for leg stretching. The pillion is also well-catered for, thanks to a generously sized seat cushion.
The wind protection presents a mixed bag: the legs remain largely exposed due to the relatively narrow fairing. However, a height-adjustable windshield is standard. Once properly adjusted, it provides noticeable relief in the upper body area. The adjustment itself is done via two manual knobs, which can only be operated when stationary and seems a bit cumbersome. A simple one-hand adjustment would be more in line with modern standards.
Ample Onboard Storage: Compartments & Space of the Zontes 368G
A real advantage in everyday use is the large under-seat storage, which, according to the manufacturer, can hold two helmets. However, as always, the fit may vary depending on the helmet type (jet, full-face, touring) – a quick test at the dealer is recommended. There's also a glove compartment at the front, which can't be securely locked but is somewhat protected from prying fingers by a relatively concealed opening button—handy for smaller everyday items.
Cockpit & Connectivity to Impress on the ADV Scooter
Zontes equips the 368G with a large TFT color display, offering various layouts to suit personal taste and information needs. The display is easy to read, modern in design, and provides a wealth of information at a glance. A tire pressure monitoring system, complete with a temperature display, is also standard.
Additionally, connectivity features such as app integration and smartphone connectivity are fundamentally available. However, in our test, the Zontes app did not yet function in the German-speaking market, so we were unable to try out these features.
Engine & CVT Impress in the Test
At the heart of the scooter is a liquid-cooled single-cylinder four-stroke engine with 368 cc, delivering 38.7 hp at 7,500 rpm and 40 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. Right from the get-go, the Zontes impresses with its very direct throttle response—the CVT reacts without noticeable delay, making it particularly zippy and responsive in heavy urban traffic. There's still plenty of power reserve on country roads to flow smoothly with the traffic. Reaching highway speeds requires a bit of patience, but short stretches are easily manageable.
Less convincing are the noticeable vibrations that run through the scooter while riding, slightly marring the otherwise harmonious overall picture. The Zontes also offers two riding modes: Eco and Sport. While the Sport mode emphasizes direct throttle response and is the default setting, Eco lowers the revs during steady riding to save fuel. Switching between modes is straightforward and can be done on the go.
Suspension, Brakes & Features
The suspension features an upside-down telescopic fork at the front and a classic swingarm with a stereo shock at the rear—both fully adjustable. Braking is handled by disc brakes at both the front and rear, supported by ABS. The handling is solid and unobtrusive—fitting for the comfortable GT orientation. The equipment also includes LED headlights, backlit controls, and standard heated grips—not a given in this class.

Fully adjustable suspension and reliable brakes - it all fits!
Room for Improvement in Operation
Unfortunately typical for Zontes: the operating logic differs somewhat from other manufacturers. Starting the scooter is intuitive and easy, thanks to the keyless system. However, to shut it down, you must first hit the kill switch or deploy the side stand to stop the engine. Only then can you turn off the vehicle via the main switch. Also somewhat unfortunate: the standard fog lights can be activated and deactivated via the left handlebar switch, but there is no display feedback to indicate whether they are on. An indicator would be desirable here, especially for factory-installed accessories.
Highlight: Integrated Dashcams
A true standout feature in this class is the integrated dashcams at the front and rear. Once activated, they automatically record every ride. The data, stored in 1-minute increments, is saved on the internal memory and can be played back on the TFT display. Additionally, the clips are supposed to be manageable via the Zontes app—though in our test, the app could be downloaded but wasn't successfully connected to the vehicle. As of early April 2025, there are still issues in the German-speaking market, as Zontes explained upon inquiry. It's an exciting feature that, when fully functional, offers real value—whether for accidents or everyday city riding.

Experiences with Lenz Heated Gear for Motorcyclists
At the time of testing, daylight saving time had already begun, and my allergic nose reminded me that spring was in the air. Yet, morning temperatures were still in the single digits, which quickly becomes noticeable even on a scooter. I was all the more grateful for the chance to test the Lenz heated apparel for motorcyclists. Equipped with a modular battery system, the snug heated vest and Heat Glove 1.0 Finger Cap Moto/Scooter kept me comfortably warm. The premium feel is not just in the craftsmanship but also in the ease of adjusting the heat levels via the Lenz Heat App, allowing me to conveniently control the desired heat setting from my phone. A solid recommendation for anyone who doesn't want to give up riding in cold weather—or is already preparing for the next Christmas market season.
