New KTM 1390 Super Adventure R 2025 - All Information & Data

With the KTM 1390 Super Adventure R, the Austrian motorcycle manufacturer introduces an evolution of its proven off-road flagship, despite the company's current economic challenges. For the 2025 model year, both engine performance and features have been revised to offer ambitious adventurers an even more robust and versatile adventure bike. From optimized ergonomics to enhanced electronics, the KTM 1390 Super Adventure R promises well-thought-out innovations for demanding applications.

The bodywork of the KTM 1390 Super Adventure R has been completely redesigned to enhance functionality and durability. Notable features include the new off-road-oriented windshield and reinforced LED headlights, which incorporate the latest design language from Kiska. Additionally, the bike offers more storage space than before, making it ideal for extended travels. The revision of the standard crash bar, now equipped with an additional arm to the engine mount, provides increased rigidity and protection.

The engine of the KTM 1390 Super Adventure R has been enlarged to 1,350 cc, now delivering 173 hp at 9,500 rpm and 145 Nm at 8,000 rpm. These figures make it the most powerful Adventure-R machine in KTM's lineup. The CAMSHIFT™ technology enhances the engine's performance by offering variable valve timing. This not only boosts power at high revs but also optimizes drivability at lower rpm. Especially off-road, this is intended to ensure a smooth throttle response.

The KTM 1390 Super Adventure R distinguishes itself from the S models with its conventional WP suspension, specifically tuned for off-road use. Up front, a fully adjustable 48-mm WP XPLOR split fork operates, while at the rear, a WP XPLOR PDS shock absorber (Progressive Damping System) provides damping. This combination is intended to deliver precise control and comfort even on challenging terrain, despite the relatively high vehicle weight of 248 kg when fully fueled.

The new vertically mounted 8-inch touchscreen display is the centerpiece of the electronics package. Equipped with inductive technology, it is easy to operate even with gloves. The anti-reflective, anti-fingerprint, and anti-glare coating ensures excellent readability. Additional features such as new riding modes, integrated map navigation, and enhanced connectivity options make the KTM 1390 Super Adventure R a technically advanced companion. Lean-angle dependent and adjustable assistance systems are standard on such a premium motorcycle in 2025 and are also included on the 1390 SAR.

The KTM 1390 Super Adventure R will be manufactured in Mattighofen, Austria, starting in 2025 and is expected to be available in stores soon. Prices are not yet known but are expected to be positioned in the premium segment.
