The V7 series at Moto Guzzi has always combined the brand's traditional values with contemporary technology. Since its introduction in the 1960s, the V7 has represented the unmistakable, authentic riding pleasure that embodies the essence of Moto Guzzi. The 2025 version of the V7 Sport, released ahead of the model's 60th anniversary, introduces groundbreaking technical innovations for this platform while maintaining its classic appearance through subtle stylistic refinements.

Guzzi V7 2025: Engine with Euro 5+ and a bit more power

At the heart of the new 2025 V7 models beats the legendary air-cooled V-twin engine with transverse cylinder arrangement and shaft drive. The engine, with a displacement of 853 cc, meets the latest Euro 5+ emission standards and offers a 4% increase in power. It now delivers 67.3 hp at 6,900 rpm and a solid 79 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm, which should allow for good pulling power and riding pleasure across all speed ranges.

With the new electronic ride-by-wire system, Moto Guzzi has refined the control and throttle response of the engine. The V7 Sport offers three riding modes – ROAD, RAIN, and SPORT, while the Special and Stone models make do with two modes. The SPORT mode, exclusive to the V7 Sport, provides a more aggressive throttle response and minimizes traction control intervention, which sportily inclined riders will appreciate on dry roads.

Additional technical refinements such as a 27% larger airbox and improved oil cooling are intended to enhance engine performance and ensure even greater reliability. The new exhaust with a third lambda probe optimizes torque across the entire rev range.

Moto Guzzi V7 Sport 2025: Modern Chassis and Cornering ABS

The Moto Guzzi V7 Sport 2025 distinguishes itself through a range of chassis and brake technologies from its predecessors and also from the standard V7 models. The new 41 mm upside-down fork (USD fork) is designed to offer more stability and precision, giving the motorcycle a sporty look and improved handling. It is adjustable in preload and offers 138 mm of travel. This lowers the bike's center of gravity further, which, together with the 1.7 kg lightweight aluminum wheels specially developed for the V7 Sport, ensures an agile, controlled riding experience.

Also reserved for the Sport variant is the dual 320-mm brake system at the front, equipped with radially mounted Brembo monobloc calipers and an improved master cylinder. This system allows for powerful and progressive braking performance, emphasizing the sporty character of the V7 Sport. In combination with the new cornering ABS, enabled by the 6-axis IMU installed only in the Sport variant, the braking force is adjusted according to the lean angle, thereby increasing stability and safety when braking in corners.

Moto Guzzi V7 2025: Electronic Features and Rider Assistance Systems

The V7 Sport comes equipped with a wide range of electronic and rider assistance systems designed to maximize riding pleasure and safety. This includes the lean-angle-dependent traction control, which is exclusive to the V7 Sport. The Stone and Special models continue to use the standard traction control. From now on, cruise control is a standard feature on all models, with easy operation via a switch on the left handlebar end to enhance comfort.

Moto Guzzi V7 Style and Attention to Detail in Design Even in 2025

Moto Guzzi places great emphasis on the design of the V7 Sport, giving it a distinctive aesthetic that combines the brand's classic appearance with modern accents. The 21-liter fuel tank—the largest in its class—wraps around the cylinder heads, while new side panels, a shorter rear fender, and a more aggressively styled exhaust enhance the bike's sporty profile. The chassis remains unchanged and is consistent across all V7 models. The accessible seat height also remains unchanged at 780mm, and the wheels retain their dimensions of 100/90/18 at the front and 150/70/17 at the rear.

The V7 Sport is available in two exclusive color variants: Verde Legnano, a classic green reminiscent of the first V7 Sport, and Grigio Lario, a modern pastel gray. Details such as aluminum side covers, bar-end mirrors, and the black-covered sports seat with red stitching emphasize the motorcycle's sporty character. The newly designed, lightweight alloy wheels and the aluminum clamps of the handlebars with a laser-etched V7 Sport logo give the machine a premium feel.

Moto Guzzi V7 Stone 2025

The V7 Stone represents the minimalist and dark side of the Moto Guzzi V7 range. Unlike the V7 Sport, the Stone features a 320-mm single disc at the front with a 4-piston Brembo caliper, providing less sporty but reliable braking performance for everyday use. The chassis is classic with a 40-mm telescopic fork, as opposed to the 41-mm USD fork of the Sport, and it is equipped with aluminum cast wheels in a six-spoke design, which are slightly heavier than the specially crafted alloy wheels of the Sport model. Stylistically, the Stone remains deliberately simple, foregoing chrome details and aggressive lines, while staying true to its understated design in the matte colors "Nero Ruvido" and "Blu Profondo". The instrument display is also reduced to essential information, retaining the single LCD display without advanced features like the Sport modes and the six-axis inertial sensor of the V7 Sport.

Moto Guzzi V7 Special 2025

The V7 Special is the classic-elegant version of the series, closely resembling the original V7 design in appearance. In contrast to the sporty-dynamic aura of the V7 Sport, the Special emphasizes retro aesthetics with numerous chrome details and polished spoke wheels. The braking system is also less sporty, featuring a single 320 mm brake disc at the front and a 260 mm disc at the rear, providing moderate braking power. The chassis includes a conventional 40 mm telescopic fork, supporting its classic character. Another distinguishing feature is the full LED lighting, including daytime running lights in the shape of the Moto Guzzi eagle, as well as the digital LCD display with an analog look, preserving tradition. Available in the subtle colors "Nero Smeraldo" and "Bianco 1969", the V7 Special brings classic elegance to the series without the sporty features like the dual braking system, inertial sensor, or dynamic suspension of the V7 Sport.

Even in 2025: Accessories and Customization Options

The Moto Guzzi V7 Sport offers a wide range of original accessories that enhance both functionality and customization options. These include the new soft saddlebags and thermoformed side cases with 42 liters of storage space, which are sure to enrich the touring experience. Additionally, Moto Guzzi provides a practical tank bag, a cover for the pillion seat, as well as heated grips and a tire pressure monitoring system (only for V7 Sport) as extras.

Furthermore, there is a line of motorcycle clothing specifically designed for the V7 Sport, intended to embody the sporty style and elegance of Moto Guzzi. This includes the Contrail helmet, a Contrail leather jacket, and protective Contrail leather gloves.
