The KTM FREERIDE E 2025 is 99% new and features a KTM-developed powertrain, extended battery capacity, new chassis, and a host of new components and features. Thanks to its low emissions and almost silent operation, the KTM FREERIDE E can be ridden more discreetly and environmentally friendly than traditional enduros. The low maintenance requirement is another positive aspect. The brand-new KTM FREERIDE E is also appealing to riders who want a motorcycle with the capabilities of a trial bike but without its classic limitations, such as the absence of a seat, short gear ratios, and excessive noise. Typical of an electric drive, the Freeride E offers instant torque and power. With the absence of a clutch and gearbox, both brakes can be positioned on the handlebars. This is intended to allow experienced riders to focus more on their technique and positioning, while also providing beginners with an easy entry into the thrill of riding.

KTM Freeride E 2025 - New Engine and Modern Electronics
With a rated power of 11 kW (15 hp), a maximum power of 19 kW (25.8 hp), torque exceeding 37 Nm, and a top speed of 95 km/h, the performance remains roughly on the same level, but the engine is said to be significantly quieter and safer than the previous model. Additionally, it is water and dustproof. Three riding modes (ECO, NORMAL, and SPORT) and three energy recovery settings (OFF, MEDIUM, and HIGH) can be synchronized to ensure flexibility in terms of range and the use of the KTM FREERIDE E. Furthermore, the traction control can be set to a specific level to limit or increase wheel spin. For added safety, the "tilt sensor" cuts off the power supply in the event of an accident.
The 29 kg MX50 lithium-ion battery at the heart of the Freeride is interchangeable, allowing riders to use a second battery while the first one charges, or carry a spare battery to extend range on trips. The capacity is 5.5 kWh, which represents an increase of 1.5 kWh compared to the previous generation of the KTM FREERIDE E, as well as 20% more riding time or range. According to KTM, the battery can achieve a lifespan of more than 1,000 charge cycles before its effectiveness drops to 80%. The KTM FREERIDE E comes with a 660-W charger and is expected to be fully charged in 8 hours with normal household power supply. After 4 and 5 hours, a charge capacity of 20 - 80% is reached.
New Chassis and WP Suspension for the KTM Freeride E 2025
KTM has focused on nimble and lightweight handling by developing a new chassis. The geometry has been adjusted, and the wheelbase has been widened for more stability and comfort. The chrome-molybdenum steel frame is suspended on the load-bearing engine and battery architecture. The wet weight is expected to be less than 115 kg, to which the aluminum and fiberglass-reinforced nylon subframe contributes. The seat height of the KTM FREERIDE E is 906 mm.
On tough trails, the latest generation of WP suspension takes care of the damping duties. The 43 mm WP XACT fork at the front features a split design, with the air chamber in the left unit and the oil damping system in the right unit. Preload can be easily adjusted via a single air pressure valve and the supplied fork air pump, while the clicker wheels allow for tool-free adjustment of compression and rebound. The new design of the WP XPLOR PDS system offers 250 mm of rear travel. The oil flow has been optimized for a smoother damping feel of the 374 mm shock absorber. New bearing seals enable longer service intervals. Other features of the Freeride E include black aluminum wheels (with versatile Michelin Enduro Medium tires for EU models), BRAKETEC braking systems with 260/240 mm disc brakes front and rear, as well as a new switch cube selector unit for the handlebars.
