Voge Enduro, specifically the DS900X, is a new player in the European market, striving to establish itself among well-known brands. Despite being a newcomer, Voge's connection to Loncin, a company that produces engines for Honda, MV-Augusta, and BMW, gives it a sense of familiarity. The DS900X features an 895cc two-cylinder engine, also used in BMW's F900GS and F800GS models. However, the Voge Enduro is not simply a budget version of a BMW. While it may not directly compete with the GS series, the DS900X hints at a potential new motorcycle segment that could carve out its own market niche in the future.

Hardware identical to the BMW F900GS - but still not the same

The Voge Enduro DS900X stands out from the BMW models, especially in terms of its engine. Equipped with an 895cc two-cylinder engine, it delivers 95 hp at 8,250 rpm and a maximum torque of 91 Newton meters at 6,250 rpm. At lower engine speeds, the ride may feel a bit unstable, particularly in second gear. Smooth riding below 40 km/h can be challenging, with throttle response seeming delayed until fully opened. The engine requires over 3,000 rpm to unleash its full power, but once there, it offers a smooth and responsive ride. The quickshifter, standard on the DS900X, performs well for both upshifting and downshifting, especially in higher rev ranges. However, some rough shifting may occur at lower speeds.

Similar to the BMW GS 850, the Voge Enduro DS900X handles corners with agility, requiring minimal input from the rider for motivating and enjoyable cornering experiences.

Further dimensions and specifications of the Voge DS900X

The Voge Enduro 900X is equipped with a 20-liter fuel tank and has a dry weight of 220 kg, placing it competitively in its weight class. With a seat height of 850 millimeters, riders can enjoy a secure stance and easier maneuverability, even at a standstill.

Designed for off-road adventures, the Voge Enduro 900X features a 17-inch rear wheel and a 21-inch front wheel, providing optimal balance and traction on various surfaces.

The suspension system, provided by the renowned Kayaba brand, plays a crucial role in the bike's performance. The front boasts a 43mm upside-down suspension fork with adjustable preload, ensuring sturdy handling and precise feedback. In the rear, a preload-adjustable Kayaba monoshock enhances adaptability in different riding conditions.

While specific suspension measurements are not currently available, riders can expect a comfortable ride for everyday use and day trips. However, during heavy braking, the front fork may feel slightly soft, resulting in noticeable dive. This may make the standard suspension setup too soft for high-speed mountain passes or track-like routes.

Quality components in terms of brakes and electronics in the Voge DS900X

The Voge Enduro stands out for its use of high-quality components in key areas. Notably, the choice of Brembo brakes ensures reliability and top-notch performance. The front of the motorcycle features twin brake discs with an ABS system, enhancing safety and enabling precise braking. In the rear, a 248 millimeter brake disc, also equipped with ABS, ensures effective deceleration and stability even in challenging conditions.

One small downside of the Voge Enduro is the absence of cornering ABS, which could enhance safety, especially in demanding riding scenarios and on twisty roads.

Voge relies on top-notch Bosch components for the electronics, showcasing their dedication to incorporating advanced technology and dependable systems to improve the riding experience and optimize overall vehicle performance.

This blend of reputable brands and technological advancements demonstrates Voge's commitment to offering a competitive Enduro motorcycle that excels in both performance and safety.

Quality control on the Voge DS900X

The Voge Enduro DS900X stands out for its extensive list of accessories, high-quality engine, and use of brand-name components in the chassis, brakes, and electronics. This raises the question: What's the catch? Surprisingly, there isn't a clear downside, but rather specific details that justify the appealing price of the Voge DS900X. For instance, the "VOGE" logo is a simple rectangular adhesive foil. The turn signal switch feels stiff and lacks clear feedback when turning off. Despite the keyless ride feature, you still need the physical key to unlock the fuel tank, which must be removed from the keyless key fob. Additionally, the passenger footrests are positioned in a way that makes it challenging to use the main stand. These aspects indicate that the Voge DS900X is not targeting the high-end touring enduro market.

A 900 cubic meter machine that is mobile for A2 badge holders

In light of the current trend towards higher engine power, many motorcycles that used to be suitable for beginner riders by restricting power have now become too powerful for new riders in their latest models with over 95 hp. However, the Voge Enduro, with a maximum output of 95 hp, remains accessible to A2 license holders thanks to the electronic throttling option. This decision by Voge to go against the grain of increasing power levels is likely to be well received by many beginner riders, especially when considering the attractive price point of the bike. This could position the Voge Enduro as a popular choice for those seeking an affordable yet performance-capable motorcycle.

Who is the Voge DS900X suitable for?

All of the points mentioned above highlight Voge's strategy in entering the adventure bike market with the Voge Enduro: focusing on high quality essential components and unmatched comfort, rather than striving for perfection in every minor detail. This approach offers a welcome change from the constant pursuit of unnecessary additional features and over-optimization of non-essential parts. Voge positions itself not only as a more affordable alternative to established brand bikes, but also cuts production costs in areas where many riders may not necessarily require top-tier excellence.

The Voge Enduro provides exceptional value for riders who are comfortable with using a key for refueling and are not concerned with a simple sticker logo. On the other hand, those who prioritize perfection, extensive dealer support, and are bothered by minor imperfections may find the Voge Enduro less appealing. This is perfectly fine, as premium models from other brands are available for those specific needs.

The Voge Enduro is a likable motorcycle that offers great value without causing the rider to worry about the engine's durability during rides.

However, the performance of the Voge Enduro off-road remains a question mark and will require thorough off-road testing. Without detailed chassis specifications, it is challenging to provide a well-informed assessment. If it proves successful in such tests, it could become an even more compelling option for adventure riders and off-road enthusiasts.
