One of the strengths of the KTM 1050 Adventure 2015 is its affordability. Despite its powerful engine and premium features, it comes at a relatively low price compared to its competitors. Additionally, the bike has a prestigious look similar to its larger counterparts, giving it a sense of luxury and style. The disengageable ABS adds an extra layer of safety, allowing riders to have more control over their braking.

On the other hand, the KTM 1090 Adventure 2018 boasts a very powerful engine with a wide rev range, providing even more performance capabilities. It also offers performance modes, allowing riders to adjust the bike's settings to match their riding style and preferences. The ABS can be switched off, giving riders the option to have a more aggressive riding experience. The bike's agility and safety are further enhanced, making it a reliable choice for adventure enthusiasts. Like the 1050 Adventure, it has adjustable ergonomics and a height-adjustable windshield. Additionally, it has a comparatively low weight, making it easier to handle.

However, both models have their weaknesses. The KTM 1050 Adventure 2015 has a rev limiter that kicks in at 8500 revs, which may limit its top speed potential. Additionally, the wind protection on the bike is not considered optimal, potentially affecting the rider's comfort during long rides.

KTM 1090 Adventure 2018

The KTM 1090 Adventure 2018, on the other hand, may seem outdated in terms of its optics when compared to the newer 1290 Super Adventures. In conclusion, both the KTM 1050 Adventure 2015 and the KTM 1090 Adventure 2018 have their strengths and weaknesses. While the 1050 Adventure offers affordability and a prestigious look, the 1090 Adventure provides a more powerful engine and additional features such as performance modes and the ability to switch off the ABS. Riders should consider their priorities and preferences when choosing between the two models.

Pros and Cons in comparison

Pros and Cons in comparison

KTM 1050 Adventure 2015

KTM 1050 Adventure 2015

The KTM 1050 Adventure picks up where the 990 Adventure left off a few years ago: Around 100 hp of power, playful handling and as much or as little electronics as is currently state-of-the-art. The engine is anything but weak, ABS and traction control regulate safely and inconspicuously and the handling is extremely fun-oriented, partly because of the relatively narrow tyres. And all this at a price that is only undercut by a few competitors in the league of big touring enduros. Sad as it may be, the two 1190 Adventures and, above all, the flagship 1290 Super Adventure, have soared in price to very high levels. And that is precisely why the KTM 1050 Adventure is perhaps the most coherent of the four Adventure models.

KTM 1090 Adventure 2018

The KTM 1090 Adventure is a huge step away from its predecessor, the 1050 Adventure, towards its bigger sisters. The electronics package with adjustable riding modes, traction control and ABS remains at the already high level, but the engine now has 125 hp, around a third (!) more than the 1050. Almost more importantly, it can now rev freely to over 10,000 rpm and thus offers a more usable rev band. You will hardly find a more balanced bike in the class of still reasonably priced large touring enduros.
