Yamaha R125 2019
The Yamaha YZF-R125 in the 2019 version makes journalists' lives difficult. You search and search for a fault, but can't find one - simply frustrating! Because the 15 hp single-cylinder with variable valve timing (VVA) performs excellently and is undoubtedly one of the best power units in the 125cc class. The handling is convincing in everyday life as well as on the racetrack, even if the chassis shows its sporty side on bumps. But we are on a super sports bike, so that is not a serious point of criticism. Maybe I need to ride the R125 for a few weeks to find its Achilles heel after all....
Yamaha MT-125 2016
In English there is the so-called 'street cred'. A value that measures respect and coolness on the road. The Yamaha MT-125 has a lot of that, it impresses with its grown-up look, which is heavily reminiscent of its larger model sisters. The handling and seating position are sporty, a streetfighter for the city. This is where the little Japanese bike feels most at home. With its low weight, it weaves through city traffic, and short overland routes are no problem. Only the lack of storage space and the relatively high price depress the generally very positive impression of the A1 bike.
