The KTM 390 Adventure 2025 lineup offers technical enhancements and a clearer distinction between off-road and versatile models. While the R variant is optimized for demanding off-road conditions, the X variant targets riders seeking a balanced mix of street and off-road capabilities.

KTM 390 Adventure R 2025 – 21-Inch Wheels & Premium Suspension

The KTM 390 ADVENTURE R is specifically designed for demanding off-road rides. It features a new steel trellis frame with optimized geometry and a highly tunable WP APEX 43 mm open-cartridge suspension with 230 mm of travel. The suspension can be adjusted in 30 clicks for both rebound and compression. The rear suspension consists of a WP APEX separate piston shock with 230 mm of travel, which is also adjustable.

Additionally, it features a 21-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear wheel equipped with Mitas Enduro Trail E07+ tires for enhanced off-road capability. An adjustable brake lever, a fine-tunable rear brake, and ergonomically optimized footpeg positioning improve ergonomics for long rides, whether standing or seated. The bike comes with a 5-inch TFT display with KTM MyRide connectivity and multiple ride modes, including "Offroad," "Street," and "Rain." The traction control can be fully disabled, and the Offroad ABS remains active even after a restart, even during prolonged use.

In Austria, prices start at €8,099.

KTM 390 Adventure X 2025 – The Simpler Alternative

The new X version is presented as a simplified version of the KTM A2 travel enduros. It features a 19-inch cast front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel, fitted with MRF Meteor or Apollo Tramplr XR tires. The suspension offers 200 mm of travel at the front and rear and consists of a WP APEX 43 mm open-cartridge fork with fixed damping settings.

The model features simpler electronics and a more basic suspension setup. The weight has been reduced, targeting riders seeking an affordable yet performance-oriented adventure choice.

In Austria, prices start at €6,499.

Frame and Ergonomics

The new two-part steel trellis frame, derived from the KTM 390 DUKE platform, provides increased rigidity and improved stability. The motorcycle offers enhanced ground clearance and an optimized footpeg position to boost comfort on long rides. The subframe is designed as a bolted steel trellis structure to enhance stability and ease of repair.

Familiar Engine in the KTM 390 Adventure 2025 Series

Both models are equipped with the newly developed LC4c single-cylinder engine, already used in the KTM 390 DUKE. The revised cylinder head and a new injection system with finer atomization ensure optimized combustion and reduced emissions according to EURO 5.+ standards. A newly positioned thermostat improves temperature management, ensuring stable engine performance under various riding conditions.

The maintenance intervals have been extended to 10,000 km. A redesigned gearbox with a shorter shift lever travel and optimized shift forks ensures more precise gear changes. Additionally, all models come with a Power Assist Slipper Clutch (PASC), which eases downshifts and keeps the rear wheel stable. An optional Quickshifter+ feature is also available.

The New 390 Adventure Models Embrace the Rally Approach

The KTM 390 Adventure lineup draws its design inspiration from KTM's rally motorcycles. It features a sleek and compact profile, a rally-inspired instrument cluster, a compact 14-liter metal tank, LED lighting at the front and rear, and durable bodywork elements. Both models come with ByBre brakes, including a 320 mm front disc and a 240 mm rear disc. The braking system has been revised for improved heat resistance and smoother braking performance.
