KTM 890 Adventure R 2025 Update with Minor Improvements

Among numerous KTM innovations for 2025, Mattighofen has given significant attention to their most powerful models, as evidenced by the new 1390 Super Adventures S, 1390 Super Adventure S EVO, and 1390 Super Duke GT. On the other hand, Mattighofen is also launching a wide range of new A2 motorcycles. At the EICMA 2024, we were already able to observe a new 390 Adventure model series, new 390 Supermotos, and 390 Enduros. With so much focus on these engine displacement classes, other segments must be content with less extensive updates. The time does not yet seem ripe for a possible 990 Adventure with the engine of the also new 990 Duke R, so KTM has only subtly revised the 2025 890 Adventure R.

The 890 Adventure R remains the adventure bike for ambitious off-road enthusiasts and sporty adventurers in 2025. Its hardware hasn't changed; it still relies on a potent WP XPLOR suspension, the low-slung 20-liter tank for optimal weight distribution, and the powerful 889 cc parallel-twin engine with 105 hp and 100 Nm of torque. The latter is now homologated for the Euro 5+ standard effective from January, and according to the data sheet, it has a slightly reduced fuel consumption of 4.4 liters instead of the previous 4.5 liters per 100 km. The CO2 emissions are said to have decreased from 110 g to 103 grams per kilometer. Additionally, from 2025, the Connectivity Unit is included, which provides a connection between the KTMConnect App and the TFT via Bluetooth for Turn-by-Turn+ navigation, music, and incoming calls.

The appearance of the 890 Adventure R has also seen some changes. In addition to new graphics on the side fairings, the seat, a part of the tank fairing, and the handguards are now part of the design in the typical KTM orange. In contrast, the fork tube cover is blue instead of orange.

The equipment of the KTM 890 Adventure R is also well-known. It offers a range of lean-angle dependent and off-road oriented assistance systems, as well as a demo mode through which you can try out additional features that require a surcharge and unlock them later for a fee.
