In an era when fairing designs were primarily the result of empirical experiments, Moto Guzzi was the first manufacturer worldwide to adopt a scientific approach to developing this component. This was achieved through tests with this extraordinary new structure, designed by Carlo and Giuseppe Guzzi, and officially inaugurated on April 12, 1954. The wind tunnel represents a milestone in the history of Italian and global motorcycle manufacturing and remains an icon of the historic factory in Mandello del Lario.

Still unique: Deployable air flaps on the Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello

This is especially true for the Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello, the world's first motorcycle with adaptive aerodynamics, a system that adjusts the position of the deflectors on the sides of the tank depending on speed and selected riding mode. Until now, this technology was unexplored in the two-wheeler sector; it allows the overall dimensions to remain compact while providing protection and comfort only when needed by the rider. The shape of the Mandello V100 was also developed through over 200 hours of CFD calculations and wind tunnel testing.

In honor of the 70-year-old wind tunnel at the Guzzi factory, Moto Guzzi now introduces the V100 Mandello Wind Tunnel. To ensure it stands out, the Wind Tunnel is adorned in the most iconic of all Moto Guzzi colors: the paint is red with a black rear and front fender, while the tank is surrounded by elegant black graphics on the sides, embellished with golden details that reflect the color of the engine cylinder heads. The Wind Tunnel special edition offers an extensive range of technical features as standard, including the Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 semi-active suspension, the IMU, cornering ABS, and the bidirectional Quick Shift gearbox, as well as the Moto Guzzi MIA multimedia platform, the TPMS tire pressure sensor, and heated grips.

PFF (Piaggio Fast Forward) on the Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello S

The equipment of the Wind Tunnel Edition corresponds to that of the Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello S 2025, whose features can optionally be expanded with the PFF (Piaggio Fast Forward) assistance system. The system is based on Imaging Radar 4D technology, making riding safer in all situations and offering functions such as Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), and Lane Change Assist (LCA). The system also includes rearview mirrors with integrated LED lights that alert to potential hazards.

Updates for all Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello models

All versions powered by the 1042 cc twin engine with a compact design (now compliant with Euro 5+ standards) benefit from improvements to the gearbox, which were already introduced with the Stelvio, allowing for smoother and softer gear changes. Another detail already present in the Stelvio is the central radiator guard, which perfectly integrates into the bike's lines and protects against kicked-up stones.

New Colors for Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello and V100 Mandello S

The standard Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello is available in two new matte metallic colors, Blu Oceano and Grigio Titanio, which highlight its distinctive appearance and are complemented by matte black painted rims and black engine cylinder heads. The V100 Mandello S is even more stylish visually, featuring two two-tone paint schemes: Verde Ghiaccio and Rosso Lava. The rims, engine cylinder heads, and forks are finished in gold.
