New Look and Reduced Weight

The design of the fourth generation MT-07 has been fundamentally revised. Particularly striking is the new fairing and the revamped LED headlight unit. Despite the new technology, Yamaha managed to reduce the bike's weight to 183 kg, 1 kg less than the previous model. This was achieved through the use of lighter components such as the patented Spin Forged wheels and an aluminum fork bridge. The reduced mass is intended to provide more agile handling and a sportier riding experience.

Yamaha MT-07 Engine: CP2 Engine with Sound Enhancement

The MT-07 stays true to its proven 690 cc CP2 engine, renowned for its torque-rich and dynamic riding experience. With an output of 73.4 hp at 8,750 rpm and 67 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm, not much has changed compared to the predecessor. New is an acoustic enhancement system that optimizes the engine sound when the throttle is open, providing an even more intense riding experience.

A highlight of the new MT-07 is the Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle (YCC-T), a ride-by-wire system used for the first time in the CP2 platform. This allows riders to choose between three individually customizable riding modes: Street, Sport, and Custom. Additionally, electronic riding aids such as standard traction control (three-stage and switchable) and an optional quickshifter (up & down) are available to further enhance the riding experience.

Y-AMT available for the MT-07

Yamaha's automated manual transmission (Y-AMT), first introduced in the MT-09 Y-AMT, makes its debut on the CP2 platform with the 2025 MT-07 Y-AMT. The system eliminates the need for a manually operated clutch, giving the rider the freedom to choose between manual shifting via the paddle shifter on the left side of the handlebar or fully automatic shifting in one of two AT modes. Exclusive to the 2025 MT-07 Y-AMT, cruise control is also part of the standard equipment.

With Y-AMT, you also get cruise control.

More Riding Comfort Through Ergonomic Adjustments

The Yamaha MT-07 2025 not only offers technological advancements but also significant improvements in terms of ergonomics and comfort. The handlebars have been widened by 18 mm and lowered by 22 mm, allowing for a more sporty riding position. At the same time, the pegs are positioned 10 mm lower to provide the rider with more knee angle. The seating position has also been revised. With a seat height of 805 mm, the bike is accessible to a wide range of riders, while the new two-piece seat is designed to enhance both comfort and freedom of movement during the ride.

Yamaha MT-07 Chassis and Brakes

The suspension setup of the Yamaha MT-07 2025 has been fundamentally revised to enable more precise and agile handling. A new 41 mm upside-down fork at the front is designed to provide a sportier riding performance and better feedback in combination with the revised chassis. The rear suspension has also been optimized to offer a balance between comfort and dynamism. Additionally, the preload and rebound damping can be individually adjusted to meet specific needs. Another highlight is the new, radially mounted four-piston brake calipers on the front wheel.

Yamaha MT-07 Features 2025

Another technical update is the new 5-inch TFT color display, which provides the rider with all essential information such as speed, RPM, fuel level, and much more in an appealing design. There are four different layouts available, which can be customized according to preference. The display can also be connected to the Yamaha MyRide app, offering additional features like call and music control. Furthermore, the app can be used for navigation by pairing it with the free Garmin StreetCross app.

Yamaha MT-07 2025: Variants and Price

The Yamaha MT-07 2025 will be available in two variants: the standard version and the MT-07 Y-AMT with automated transmission. The suggested retail price in Austria is 8,799 euros for the standard version and 9,399 euros for the Y-AMT version. Prices for Germany are not yet available. Both models are available as A2 versions and in three color variants: Ice Storm, Icon Blue, and Tech Black.
