The W series from Kawasaki has a long history, beginning in 1966 with the 650W1. The Meguro brand, which has been around for over 100 years, was acquired by Kawasaki in the 1960s. With the Meguro S1, Kawasaki recalls the glorious days of this iconic brand in Japan. The two models have already been presented in Japan and are now coming to Europe.

Kawasaki W230 and Meguro S1: Simple Technology and Classic Look
Both models share the same 233cc single-cylinder engine with 18 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 18.6 Nm at 5,800 rpm. Deceleration is the name of the game here. According to Kawasaki, vibrations are reduced thanks to a balance shaft. Visually, the large, rounded cooling fins on the cylinder head perfectly complement the retro style.
With a weight of just 143 kg, the W230 and the Meguro S1 are among the lightest models in their class. The compact design and low seat height of 745 mm should provide a relaxed riding experience and a secure footing. The chassis of the new Kawasaki models consists of a 37 mm fork at the front and two five-way adjustable shocks at the rear.
Visually, the retro bikes hit the mark.

Steel fenders and the retro-design exhaust emphasize the classic look. Spoked wheels and stylish round gauges complete the overall concept. In terms of design, the two models mainly differ in their appearance. The W230 comes with a painted tank, while the Meguro S1 features a chrome tank. The design of the seat was also individually tailored to the lines of each model.
