With a weight of only 187 kg (two kilograms less than the previous model) and a power increase of 0.5 HP despite the strict Euro5+ homologation, the Panigale V4 makes a certain leap forward. But that was not all! Aerodynamics, design, and technology - nothing has been left untouched here.

Aerodynamics integrated into the fairing

Ducati has made a significant shift with the seventh generation of its superbikes, from the 851 to the present day. Instead of adding an aerodynamic package to an already finished motorcycle, Ducati integrates the aerodynamic design into the overall concept from the beginning. This approach has led to a 4% reduction in drag and offers the rider better protection in a straight line. Additionally, the winglets can almost be described as "elegant" since they no longer appear as add-ons. The efficient dual-wing profiles are integrated into the front and provide unchanged downforce. By shifting the leading edge of the fairing in relation to the front wheel, the motorcycle is intended to be more agile during direction changes, while improvements to the fender and cooling inlets enhance the efficiency of the cooling system, especially the oil cooler.

New Ergonomics on the Panigale V4

The seating position of the new Panigale V4 has been further developed to ensure maximum rider integration into the bike's aerodynamics. The seat-tank unit offers more freedom of movement and makes it easier to position behind the fairing. A deep recess in the upper part of the tank prevents obstruction by the helmet. The pegs have been moved 10 mm inward to increase ground clearance and improve aerodynamic flow.

Additionally, the rear of the tank, the side covers, and the shape of the seat provide better support during braking and in corners. This allows the rider to anchor better with their knees to compensate for the delay, and to lean out of the saddle to relieve the arms and reduce fatigue.

Ducati Panigale V4 2025: Engine and Performance

The Desmosedici Stradale engine of the Panigale V4, benefiting from Ducati's racing commitment, delivers 216 hp at 13,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 120.6 Nm at 11,250 rpm. In the racing configuration, with the Ducati Performance racing exhaust by Akrapovič, the power increases to 228 hp. The engine features numerous technical solutions from MotoGP, including a 90° V4 architecture, desmodromic valve control, and counter-rotating crankshafts.

New Swingarm for Enhanced Racing Performance

Ducati has always had high standards when it comes to racing success. To make the Panigale V4 even more competitive, Ducati Corse (Ducati's racing division) demanded new stiffness specifications for the frame and swingarm to fully exploit the potential of the new slick tires used in the Superbike class.

To this end, the front frame has been modified and a new dual-arm swingarm - the Ducati Hollow Symmetrical Swingarm - has been developed. The new swingarm reduces lateral stiffness (-37% compared to the previous single-arm swingarm) and weight thanks to the two large relief slots, which improves traction at the corner exit and the rider's feel when accelerating. The forged swingarm weighs 2.7 kg less than its predecessor and, according to Ducati, transfers power to the ground more effectively.

The front frame is lighter (3.47 kg compared to 4.2 kg) and has been revised in terms of stiffness (-40% lateral) compared to the previous model. This is intended to provide even more confidence when leaning and is more effective when it comes to hitting the apex and closing the corner.

Premiere: New Brembo Brakes on the Panigale V4

The new Ducati Panigale V4 is the first bike in the world to be equipped with Brembo HypureTM front brake calipers. The lighter (-60 grams per pair) and more efficient Brembo HypureTM calipers dissipate the heat generated during braking more effectively and provide more consistent performance, thus offering greater effectiveness for the rider when pushing their own limits. Another world premiere is the Race eCBS system, developed by Bosch in collaboration with Ducati. In the modes designed for track use, this system can activate the rear brake according to strategies that mimic the techniques of professional riders, allowing experimentation with delaying the braking point on the track as if the system were not present. Specifically, the system activates the rear brake even after releasing the front brake when entering a corner, just like the pros do with the finger brake on the handlebar.

Ducati Vehicle Observer

The Ducati Panigale V4 is equipped with a full range of electronic controls that optimize the riding experience. Highlights include the so-called Ducati Vehicle Observer (DVO), which simulates inputs from over 70 sensors and refines electronic control strategies to achieve unprecedented effectiveness. This precision allows the controls to operate almost predictively, promptly meeting the rider's demands.

The 2025 Panigale V4 comes equipped with a complete package of electronic systems: Ducati Traction Control DVO, Ducati Slide Control, Ducati Wheelie Control DVO, Ducati Power Launch DVO, Engine Brake Control, and Ducati Quick Shift 2.0. The DQS 2.0 system uses a strategy based solely on the angle position sensor of the shift drum. This allows for the use of a shift rod without a microswitch, providing the rider with a more direct feel and shorter travel.

New race-inspired display

The new 6.9-inch TFT display with an 8:3 aspect ratio is designed to deliver maximum readability under all conditions. The display includes new parameters such as the "g-Meter," which shows lateral acceleration in real-time, and the "Power&Torque" indicator, which displays the current power and torque output compared to the maximum available values.

The Track info mode can display chronological performance in real-time. Using the GPS system, the dashboard shows lap times and can process three splits that the rider can set during the first practice session using the flash button. The dashboard displays the table with the intermediate times, with the T1, T2, or T3 symbols indicating the performance achieved in the respective track section using the same color codes - white, gray, orange, red - as used in MotoGP.

Ducati Panigale V4 2025: Price and Availability

The new Ducati Panigale V4 is offered in a single-seat configuration, with a pillion kit available as an accessory. The market launch is planned for September 2024, with prices yet to be announced.
