HJC V31 Disney Mickey Price

299.90 euros for a jet helmet? The price of the HJC V31 Disney Mickey is quite steep for a helmet in this category. When browsing the HJC online store, it becomes evident that licensing comes at a cost! The standard version with a single paint job is priced at 199.90 euros - 100 euros cheaper than the Disney Mickey version we reviewed. The official Disney design with the Disney logo stitched into the lining comes at an extra cost - but fans will surely find it to be a worthwhile investment. Especially when you receive such a stylish helmet, as the details are truly impressive!

A design for extroverts

"Have you got a girl's helmet?" a colleague recently asked me. Just because it's pink? Clearly, introverted riders might prefer a more subtle design or the black Disney Mickey version. But if you opt for the pink version, you'll also enjoy the inner lining. This comes in a beautiful dark red, which not only complements the helmet's exterior perfectly, but also looks incredibly elegant. As is typical for HJC, the quality of craftsmanship is of a very high standard, which at least partially justifies the price. There are symbols on the fiberglass composite shell that clearly reference the world's most famous mouse.

The removable and washable inner lining gives the V31 a sophisticated touch.

HJC V31 features and equipment

Whether it's Disney design or not, the features are the same across the entire V31 range. The 1,120 gram HJC jet helmet naturally meets the latest ECE 22.06 safety standard and even features a double-D ring - more complex to use on a daily basis, but ultimately safer than a ratchet closure. Eye protection is provided by the integrated, lightly tinted visor, which can be locked in three positions. For added protection from the sun's rays, you can also attach a visor to the designated attachment point. If you prefer to ride with goggles, the V31 comes with a suitable goggle strap at the back.

Experience with the HJC jet helmet

Due to their design, jet helmets offer less protection than full-face helmets. Their strength lies in slow speeds in urban areas. Here, riders are looking for comfort and perhaps also the right styling to stand out from the crowd. The HJC V31 offers both. When putting it on and taking it off, the helmet shell feels relatively stiff and doesn't offer a lot of flex, but this can be explained by the new safety standard. A minor inconvenience that shouldn't really be called that - after all, your own safety benefits from it. Once you've put it on, you can enjoy the high quality of the helmet.

The breathable inner lining sits comfortably against the head and feels very premium. With the visor adjustable to three different heights, you can customize how low you want it to be. It also excels in style, as despite meeting safety standards, the helmet is not overly bulky and avoids the common "egghead" look often seen with open-face helmets.

Conclusion: HJC V31 Disney Mickey jet helmet

Is the HJC V31 a good jet helmet for 2024? Absolutely. It offers safety, comfort, numerous features, and high-quality craftsmanship. Is the price of the helmet worth it? This depends on the design. Prices start (as of 02/2024) at 199.90 euros for the single-colored V31 versions, while more unique designs start at 229.90 euros. If you want a Disney design, you will need to pay 299.90 euros, which is definitely worth it for fans - as you are essentially paying for the licensing. Therefore, if you are in search of a high-quality jet helmet, the basic V31 design will suffice. If you want to make a statement, you can opt for the version with the mouse.
