Pokud hledáte na Monsteru SP nějakou chybu, je to nejspíš cukání motoru V2 v nízkých otáčkách, ale pravé fanoušky motoru V2 90° to vůbec neurazí. Problémem není ani cena, protože za výkon verze SP si Italové nechávají zaplatit poměrně vysokou cenu.

Přívlastek "Bestie" není úplně od věci, KTM je a zůstává brutálním naháčem - 177 koní ze dvou hrnců s kombinovaným objemem 1301 cm3 není nic neškodného. Přesto se překvapivě snadno ovládá; vzpřímený posed v kombinaci s dobrým ovládáním působí téměř učenlivě. Oproti svému předchůdci byl vylepšen právě na svých nejslabších místech.
