Pros and Cons in comparison

Pros and Cons in comparison

KTM 1050 Adventure 2016

KTM 1050 Adventure 2016

In my opinion, the KTM 1050 Adventure picks up where the 990 Adventure left off a few years ago: Around 100 hp of power, playful handling and as much or as little electronics as is currently state-of-the-art. The engine is anything but weak, ABS and traction control regulate safely and inconspicuously and the handling is extremely fun-oriented, partly because of the relatively narrow tyres. And all this at a price that is only undercut by a few competitors in the league of big touring enduros. Sad as it may be, the two 1190 Adventures and, above all, the flagship 1290 Super Adventure, have soared in price to very high levels. And that is precisely why the KTM 1050 Adventure is perhaps the most coherent of the four Adventure models.

Powerful, refined engine

disengageable ABS

adjustable traction control

agile handling

adjustable ergonomics

prestigious looks similar to the big sisters

height-adjustable windshield

low weight

comparatively affordable price.

Rev limiter kicks in at 8500 revs

KTM 1290 Super Adventure R 2021

KTM 1290 Super Adventure R 2021

The Super Adventure R presented itself as a great adventure motorbike during the intensive test in the Pyrenees. It offered a great combination of long-distance comfort and off-road capability. You won't find this combination in this consistency on any other motorbike. Above all, the chassis is tough and presented itself from its best side in tough terrain. Of course, only very few riders will actually ride this monster properly - but in rough terrain, "having" has always been better than "needing".

Robust overall impression

high-quality and practical chassis

great seat for a lot of endurance in the saddle

sporty and high-quality components

powerful but easy-to-control engine

practical riding aids.

The high-priced motorbike lacks individual features in the basic equipment

fiddly controls
