The first Indian Cruiser was introduced over a century ago in 1920. Since then, Indian Motorcycles has made significant advancements, and now in 2024, they are unveiling a new series of Cruiser models featuring a state-of-the-art liquid-cooled 1250 cc V-twin engine, cutting-edge electronics, and 5 unique models each with their own distinctive design.

Indian Scout models 2025 - All new features and updates

The new Indian Cruiser, the Scout models, have undergone a technical overhaul for the next generation of this iconic brand. They incorporate major innovations in the engine, frame, and peripherals. The centerpiece of the new Indian Scout is the SpeedPlus 1250, a 1250 cc liquid-cooled V-twin engine. While not entirely new, this engine is a revised version of the previous 1,133 cc V2, with an increased bore of 104 mm and a compression ratio raised from 10.3:1 to 12.5:1. Generating a peak output of up to 111 hp at 7,250 rpm and a maximum torque of 108 Nm at 6,300 rpm, the new V2 surpasses the previous models' 95 hp and 97 Nm. The new Scouts now boast a classic tubular steel frame instead of the previous aluminum frame. With the industry's lowest seat height, the Indian Scout offers a secure riding position and agile, stable handling. ABS is standard across the range, enhancing braking performance, while selected models feature traction control and riding modes for a customized riding experience at the push of a button.

In order to enhance an American classic like the Indian Scout, Indian Motorcycle has focused on three main areas. Firstly, it was essential for the new Scout to maintain its iconic design DNA. Additionally, the model lineup has been crafted to cater to the diverse needs of various rider groups. A lightweight build and a low seat height of 654 mm aim to deliver nimble handling. The third priority in the development process was the integration of technology. While rider-centric technology may not have been a priority for motorcyclists a decade ago, it is now considered crucial. The 2025 model lineup offers a variety of technology packages, allowing riders to choose between different price points and modern features. Built from the ground up, the Indian Scout 2025 platform consists of five models with three trim levels.

New Indian Scout Bobber 2025

The Indian Scout Bobber embodies the classic bobber style with its bold stance and powerful presence. Dressed entirely in black, featuring shortened bobber fenders and a headlight mask, the Scout Bobber stays true to the authentic bobber aesthetic. It is the only 1250 Scout model to carry on the name from the previous series. A solo seat in bobber style highlights the minimalist design, offering both comfort and control during intense acceleration. The SpeedPlus 1250 engine in the Bobber is tuned differently, delivering 107 hp and 108 Nm of torque at the specified revs, similar to other models except the 101 Scout. With a significantly reduced suspension providing only 51 mm of travel, the Scout Bobber boasts the lowest seat height among the Scouts at 649 mm, ensuring accessibility and a distinctive aggressive look. The handlebar end mirrors contribute to the motorcycle's clean and streamlined appearance. The robust look is complemented by 16-inch wheels fitted with wide tires (130/60 front & 150/80 rear). Weighing in at 246 kg, the Scout Bobber is the lightest among the new Scouts.

New Indian Scout Classic 2025

The Indian Cruiser Scout Classic combines classic design elements with the needs of modern American cruiser riders. Featuring plenty of chrome, the iconic flared mudguards typical of Indian Motorcycle, and a stylish paint finish, this bike is sure to turn heads. In terms of performance, the Classic matches the Bobber, shares the same solo seat as the 101 and Sport Scout models, and uses the same tires as the Super Scout - with a thick 130/90-16 tire at the front and a 150/80-16 at the rear. The front suspension consists of a 41mm telescopic fork with 120mm of travel, while the rear features two preload-adjustable twin shock absorbers with 76mm of travel.

New Indian Sport Scout 2025

The Indian Cruiser Sport Scout stands out in the Scout series with its sporty character, highlighted by features such as the milled triple clamps and Moto handlebars. While sharing the same engine tuning, chassis, and brakes as the other Scouts (excluding the 101), the Sport Scout has slightly slimmer brakes compared to its predecessors. It now features a 298 mm single disc with 2-piston brake calipers at the front and a 298 mm disc with 1-piston brake calipers at the rear. The comfortable sports seat is designed for long rides without compromising the bike's sleek style. The 19-inch front wheel, the largest in the series, along with the high handlebars, enhances the Sport Scout's sporty appearance. Weighing in at 248 kilograms ready to ride, the Sport Scout shares the 13-liter tank with all models in the series.

The Indian Cruiser Super Scout is equipped with saddlebags, spoked rims, a windshield, and a pillion seat as standard, and is only available fully loaded. It embodies the classic cruiser style with long-distance capabilities. The saddlebags provide ample storage space and can be easily removed with a quick-release fastener. The windshield is also removable for a different aesthetic. It shares tires, chassis, engine, and brakes with other models in its lineup. Weighing in at 268 kg, the Super Scout is packed with features for a smooth ride.

New Indian 101 Scout 2025

The new Indian 101 Scout, named after the iconic 1928 Scout 101, is the flagship model among the 2025 Scouts. It boasts the title of the most powerful Scout ever offered by Indian Motorcycle, thanks to its SpeedPlus V2 engine delivering 111 hp and 108 Nm of torque. The 101 Scout features a fully adjustable chassis, with a 43 mm USD fork providing 150 mm of front travel and piggyback shocks with reservoirs offering 76 mm of travel. Equipped with two 320 mm Brembo double-disc brakes with radial 4-piston calipers at the front and a 298 mm disc with a single-piston caliper at the rear, this 249 kg machine ensures smooth deceleration. Sporting the same tires as the Sport Scout, the 101 Scout rides on 130/60-19 front and 150/80-16 rear tires. The cockpit is adorned with glossy black 150 mm risers, milled triple clamps, and handlebars that complement the bike's aggressive character while providing ergonomic comfort. The meticulous attention to detail is evident in the 101 Scout lettering, exclusive paintwork, and graphics. Packed with advanced electronic features and equipment, the 101 Scout comes fully equipped with the latest technology packages, setting a high standard for the rest of the Scout lineup to follow.

Indian Scout 2025 equipment variants

For the model year 2025, Indian introduces the Scout family in three different trim levels. The Standard trim provides a basic option at a budget-friendly price, while the Limited trim offers additional rider-focused technologies. The Limited + Tech trim level represents the top-tier option with the most extensive range of technologies.

  • Standard Trim: The new Indian Cruiser models come in three standard trim levels: the Cruiser Classic, Cruiser Bobber, and Sport Cruiser. Each of these models includes ABS, LED light technology, and an analog display with a fuel gauge as standard.
  • Limited Trim: The Limited trim for the Indian Cruiser enhances the standard features with additional technology. Traction control improves safety, while cruise control enhances comfort on long rides. A USB charging port adds practicality. Riders can choose from three riding modes - Sport, Standard, and Tour - to adjust throttle response.
  • Limited + Tech Trim: The top-of-the-line Limited + Tech trim takes the standard and Limited trims to the next level by incorporating the 101 mm round touchscreen display already known from Indian into the Cruiser platform. This display features a GPS system with turn-by-turn navigation, point-to-point route planning, customizable displays, riding statistics, and more. The Limited + Tech trim also includes a Keyless Go system for convenient on/off operation. While the 101 Cruiser and Super Cruiser models only come with the Limited + Tech trim, the Cruiser Classic, Cruiser Bobber, and Sport Cruiser models can be customized with this equipment as desired.
